About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer & General Counsel to join their global mission of protecting vulnerable people from violence. This dual role is pivotal in ensuring the organization meets its fiduciary, legal, and duty of care requirements, and in setting enterprise-wide standards for compliance, risk management, and ethical practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading a team that supports the mission in legal affairs, security, compliance, and corporate governance. They will also serve as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership and the Board, and must have a strong background in legal and compliance, with a minimum of five years of experience in risk management, corporate governance, safety/security, and/or policy development.Applicants for this role at the company must have a minimum of ten years of experience in legal affairs and compliance, with a Juris Doctorate degree and bar membership. The role requires a leader with a proven track record of building and managing diverse teams, and experience in a multi-national/global context. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the company's core values, which include being a Christian, professional, and a bridge-builder. They should possess superb communication skills, strategic judgment, and the ability to interact with high-level stakeholders.
