Delta Solutions & Strategies is seeking a highly experienced Chief Systems Engineer to lead systems engineering efforts supporting the OPIR TAP Lab and BGIF mission. This role will drive the development, integration, and sustainment of advanced technologies, oversee engineering trade studies, define system requirements, and help guide technology investments that enable RDT&E activities. The Chief Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of both the OPIR TAP Lab Architecture Design and the Enclave Execution Plan, while aligning all technical work with the Government’s strategic objectives.
***This position is expected to begin in January of 2026***
What you'll be doing:
- Lead all system engineering activities in support of OPIR TAP Lab and BGIF.
- Define, prioritize, and translate technical requirements into actionable solutions.
- Conduct trade studies and recommend hardware/software investments to advance capability.
- Develop and maintain the OPIR TAP Lab Architecture Design, integrating AI/ML, data fusion, and cloud-based infrastructure solutions.
- Build and maintain the OPIR TAP Lab Enclave Execution Plan, outlining integration and sustainment actions across infrastructure, cybersecurity, procurement, policy, and comms.
- Coordinate the BGIF Integration Roadmap with stakeholders to deconflict activities, identify tech refresh opportunities, and manage tenant requirements.
- Provide strategic recommendations for software development tools, DevSecOps platforms, and technology refresh.
- Resolve deficiencies in 3rd party software and ensure proper integration and delivery of source code.
- Collaborate with internal and external technical stakeholders, including FFRDCs and SE&I contractors, to ensure cohesive system strategies.
- Conduct obsolescence analysis, support recapitalization efforts, and manage full hardware lifecycle from acquisition through sustainment.
- Perform hands-on network engineering and provide necessary cyber documentation to support system accreditations.
What you'll need:
- Master’s degree in engineering, science, technology management, or related IT field.
- Minimum 10 years of industry-related experience, including 5+ years in software development, testing, or systems integration in DoD or national security environments.
- Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Proven leadership in RDT&E environments and managing cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML, cloud computing, data storage frameworks, and secure communications.
- Experience with DevSecOps toolchains, cybersecurity compliance, and technical documentation.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position has not been finalized, but is expected to exceed $150,000+.
