We are seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Child Abuse Pediatrician to join this hospital's well-established Child Protection Program, which serves the greater Philadelphia area. This vital position offers the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to providing expert medical evaluations and care for children who are suspected victims of abuse or neglect.
The Child Protection Program, established in 2004, includes two board-certified child abuse pediatricians, a dedicated social worker, nurse, and support staff. The program conducts hundreds of evaluations annually in inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and at the regional Child Advocacy Center, working closely with law enforcement, child protective services, and legal representatives to ensure timely and comprehensive communication of medical findings.
This role includes an academic appointment at Drexel University College of Medicine, with opportunities for teaching and mentorship. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in education, program development, and advocacy for vulnerable pediatric populations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert medical evaluations for suspected child physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect.
Collaborate with local investigators and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and effective communication of findings.
Participate in clinical activities at inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and the regional Child Advocacy Center.
Offer educational training for medical students, residents, and fellows, both within the institution and in the community.
Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and community outreach initiatives.
Serve as a medical expert in court testimony, when necessary.

Requirements
Qualifications:
MD or DO from an accredited institution.
Board-certified or board-eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
Clear/ Active License
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Dedication to multidisciplinary collaboration, trauma-informed care, and child advocacy.
Interest in academic medicine, teaching, and program expansion.
