Job Description - Child Care Bus Driver

We are seeking an employee who can be a bus driver. Applications for part-time bus drivers (before & after school) are being happily accepted. A Full time option for a child care worker and bus driver is also available (working a split morning/afternoon shift)

Bus Driver

Job Summary

Transports students, ensures adherence to safety rules, and assists passengers in boarding or exiting, as necessary.

General Accountabilities

Drives multi-passenger vehicles to transport passengers.

Complies with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.

Maintains order among passengers during trips to ensure safety.

Checks the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order.

Reports any bus malfunctions or needed repairs.

Picks up and drops off passengers at designated locations, following strict time schedules.

Maintains knowledge of first-aid procedures.

Prepares and submits reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, or fuel consumption.

Reads maps and follows written and verbal geographic directions.

Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.

Keeps bus interiors clean for passengers.

Reports delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.

Job Qualifications

Experience: Appropriate certifications and/or licensures with a few months to 1 year of related experience

CDL with passenger endorsement already possessed or acquired prior to first day of driving is required
