This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Childcare Director, the Childcare Coordinator helps manage and support the Malta Early Learning Center. This includes supervision of staff, lunch and snack preparation, and administrative support, as well as maintains program quality in accordance with Creative Curriculum philosophy, Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) guidelines and YMCA program policies. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes safety in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supports the Director with all ordering, stocking and breakdown of shipments.
Manages all feeding services, menu development and implementation.
Maintains accurate and timely records of temperature logs, face to names as well as progress and behavioral reports.
Maintains accurate and timely records of Non-Medication Logs (i.e. sunscreen, diaper cream).
Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
Steps in to maintain ratio in classrooms when needed & covers breaks for staff.
Enforces and leads all YMCA and NYSED policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
Enforces and leads all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA procedures, completes related reports as required.
Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of the YMCA and our three areas of focus: youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Ability to articulate and model the Y’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Wear required and approved uniform items at all time.
Assist in Administrative duties as assigned.
Assist with training and onboarding staff.
Remains a support for staff while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality with office information.
Supports other childcare programs when able to ensure ratio compliance across programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum age of 18 years old.
High School Diploma or Higher.
Minimum of 6 months childcare experience.
Working knowledge and understanding of NYS Early Learning Standards, and mandated reporting.
Working knowledge and understanding of NYS OCFS Regulations.
Current CPR PRO & First Aid certifications preferred.
Current MAT Certification.
