Job Description - Child Welfare Specialist IV - Permanency Court Representative


This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Child Welfare Specialist IV - H23D

Annual Salary: $52,217.89 + Full State Employee Benefits

Applicants who possess a Master's Degree in Social Work will be entitled to a salary incentive of an additional 5%.

On-call positions will receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks, depending on responsibilities.

Travel is Occasional. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.  

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree plus one year of experience in professional social work in child welfare programs.
  • OR a Bachelors Degree plus two years experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
  • OR Three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.

       

Job Responsibilities

  • Position serves as a Court Liaison at the Juvenile Justice Center, coordinating services between Child Welfare and the Juvenile Court System.
  • Ensure assigned caseworkers are informed of their court dates.
  • Confirm timely submission of all required court reports, documents, and information relevant to each family’s case.
  • Accurately represent DHS’s position in court, based on the assigned social work team’s recommendations and clinical decisions.
  • Mediate concerns or conflicts between the judiciary and local DHS teams.
  • Communicate and engage with families prior to their court hearings.
  • Documents court minutes during all deprived and dually adjudicated court proceedings.
  • Processes and files pick-up orders,  and medical consents.  Also processes and files reports to District Attorneys, court dockets, and court reports.
  • Assists Assistant District Attorneys, Public Defender and DHS Legal offices with requests.
