Childcare Assistant Teacher

The Assistant Teacher supports the Classroom Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children. This role assists with daily classroom activities, supervision, and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum while promoting children’s social-emotional growth and independence. The Assistant Teacher helps maintain classroom routines, supports family relationships, and ensures a clean, organized, and compliant learning environment.

Work hours: Monday - Friday 8 Hours between 7:00am-5:00pm (part year August-May) 

The anticipated start date for this position is August 3, 2026.

Reports to: Childcare Coordinator

Supervises: None

Minimum Requirement:

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent


• Working towards a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is encouraged within the first two years of employment

Starting Salary: 

High School Diploma/GED: $19.53

CDA: $20.89

Associate’s Degree: $22.35

There is a 10-step wage scale built into this position that occurs annually.

This is a non-exempt position with a 90-day introductory period.
