Care-O-World Early Learning Centers is looking for a Part-Time Kitchen Assistant to join our Washington center and help nourish the children we serve with care, creativity, and consistency.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday
  Flexible start time (as early as 7:00 AM)


• Hours: 25–30 hours per week


• Pay: $10.00 – $15.00 per hour (based on experience)

🍎 What You’ll Do

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children across classrooms


• Follow rotating menus and assist with food and supply planning


• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation best practices


• Support food safety, allergy awareness, and substitutions in partnership with the Kitchen Lead and Center Director


• Follow all sanitation and food-service regulations


• Complete 10 hours (1.0 CEUs) of professional development annually

✅ Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma required (2-year culinary arts degree preferred)


• At least 2 years of food service experience, including cooking from raw ingredients


• Ability to pass a background check


• Positive references from previous employers

Helpful but not required:

• Knowledge of NC-DCDEE regulations


• Familiarity with USDA Child & Adult Care Food Program


• ServSafe Certification


• Child care food service experience
