Welder / Shop Floor Machinist Summary 

The Welder / Shop Floor Machinist supports Reinsman’s Bits division with metal welding and machine operations, playing a vital role in the production of custom wire and tubing components. 

Welder / Shop Floor Machinist Responsibilities 

- Weld and tack per supervisor instructions and specifications. 

- Operate and set up manual/CNC machinery for part fabrication. 

- Track time and material usage for each job. 

- Prepare tooling, fixtures, and work area for welding/machining tasks. 

- Conduct first and final inspections to QC standards. 

- Ensure dimensional accuracy and appearance in all parts. 

- Maintain a clean and safe work environment. 

- Report issues or unsafe conditions to supervision. 

- Wear all required PPE including eye and hearing protection. 

- All other duties as assigned by management 

Welder / Shop Floor Machinist Skills and Competencies 

- Ability to read blueprints and work orders. 

- Maintain welding and machining tolerances. 

- Proficient in basic machining operations (drilling, grinding, etc.). 

- Use of calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools. 

- Problem-solving and troubleshooting setup issues. 

Welder / Shop Floor Machinist Qualifications 

- Experience setting up welders and machine shop equipment. 

- Knowledge of machining and welding safety standards. 

- Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures. 

Work Environment 

Primarily indoors with exposure to heat, smoke, and noise. Must wear PPE and work safely around welding and machining equipment.
