Job Description:

Job Summary:

The candidate hired to fill this role will leverage the learning developed in previous professional experience. This experience will enable the candidate to work directly with NYCREATES Design, Integration, and Patterning teams to provide design support for multiple disciplines. The candidate chosen will work with the Design team to build on existing and establish new PDK's for efforts at the Albany facility. With the integration team the candidate will layout and design new devices, integrated circuits and establish design rules for future layouts. The candidate will also work with the patterning teams to characterize the capabilities of NYCREATES lithography capabilities and establish OPC models to be used by the integration and design teams.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Working with NY CREATES Development group supporting internal and external customers from throughout the semiconductor industry, ranging from academic institutions to IDMs.
The engineer will be a team member developing content for mask sets for new and existing technologies, and multiproduct wafers (MPWs).
Areas of concentration will include designing new test structures, ESD protection circuits, memory arrays, pad layouts, PDK development, developing design rules for OPC corrections needed for new test structures, managing allocation of design space and documenting mask set layouts.
The Engineer is expected to work within an environment requiring regular interaction with the Integration Engineering team, Process Engineering team and end customers including academic institutions. It will be critical to work seamlessly in this environment to improve the business and optimize development efforts.
This position will require a strong ability to develop and define objectives, establish experimental design guidelines, and design rule documentation.
It will also require detailed documentation, clear communication for direct interactions with customers and the ability to develop a deep understanding of how programs impact the overall line.

Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or equivalent Engineering and/or Science
2-5 years of experience working in the semiconductor industry as a Design or Integration Engineer in one or more areas of advanced CMOS/Derivatives Integration.
A deep understanding of the semiconductor industry and how to design devices and circuits. Therefore, an understanding and working knowledge of process integration for semiconductor technologies that can be applicable to traditional CMOS manufacturing,
Deep Understanding of Operation of Semiconductor devices, and concepts in memory design is required.
Previous experience working in memory array design, ESD protection strategies is a must.

Preferred Requirements:

PhD. In Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or equivalent Engineering or Science degree
Experience in design of sense amplifiers
Experience in OPC design rules
Experience in layout of memory circuits

Salary Range: $100,000-$160,000

*Posted range is determined upon experience and education.

Assistant Engineer- $100,000-$125,000

Associate Engineer- $125,000-$140,000

Staff Engineer- $140,000-$160,000
