About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Civil 3D CAD Technician to support civil engineering and utility infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of civil CAD drafting/design experience and strong hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. This position will focus on preparing construction plans, civil design drawings, and as-built/record drawings using survey and field data.

You will work closely with engineers, surveyors, field personnel, and contractors to produce accurate, high-quality civil infrastructure documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  Prepare detailed civil design drawings and construction plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  Develop alignments, profiles, plan production, and other civil design documents.

  
  


• 
  

  Convert Trimble GPS data and field notes into accurate as-built drawings.

  
  


• 
  

  Prepare and maintain construction and record drawings.

  
  


• 
  

  Work with survey data, coordinate systems, and projections.

  
  


• 
  

  Review CAD deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with drafting standards.

  
  


• 
  

  Collaborate with engineers and field personnel to identify and resolve design or data discrepancies.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with field data management, documentation, and archiving.

  
  


• 
  

  Support improvements to CAD workflows and drafting processes.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide informal guidance and mentoring to junior drafting staff.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage assigned drafting projects independently and meet project deadlines.

  
  

Required Qualifications

• 
  

  5+ years of CAD drafting/design experience in a civil engineering environment.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong hands-on AutoCAD Civil 3D experience – mandatory.

  
  


• 
  

  Understanding of civil design principles and survey data.

  
  


• 
  

  Knowledge of coordinate systems and projections.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience preparing construction plans and technical drawings.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  
  


• 
  

  Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  
  


• 
  

  Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  

  Associate's degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  
  


• 
  

  Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) certification.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with utility, water, pipeline, or civil infrastructure projects.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience working with Trimble GPS and field survey data.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience producing as-built/record drawings from field information.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS.

  
  


• 
  

  Basic scripting or VBA experience.
