We are looking to hire a talented Civil 3D Modeler to generate surface and solid CAD models. You will be responsible for transforming client blueprints and design plans into computer generated models using CAD software. The Civil 3D Modeler is a problem solver and can identify conflicts and potential issues in the plans as well as propose corrective measures before construction begins. 

To ensure success as a Civil 3D Modeler, you should have experience with CAD software and the ability to interpret plans and existing CAD to create a 3D model. A top-class Civil 3D Modeler is a technical wizard, creating exact computer models of building and machine designs according to the client’s specifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Build 3D site models for projects to include grading, earthwork, utilities, and ADA using Trimble Business Center and owner/engineer supplied design.
• Work closely with field crew, surveyors, and project managers to ensure accurate representation of design intent. Support project coordination by sharing models and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. 
• Conduct quality control checks on models and drawings by analyzing and recognizing potential issues to ensure compliance with industry standards. 
• Confirm GPS model mirrors design and advise of any discrepancies and/or resolve with assistance from Project manager or GPS team member. 
• Maintain and organize CAD files, layer structures, and project documentation. 
• Identify and resolve design conflicts or constructability issues before construction begins 
• Assist in resolving design challenges by proposing solutions using Civil 3D Modeling techniques. 
• Stay up to date with emerging construction technology trends, software updates, and best practices. 
• Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned by management

Education and Experience

• Modeling experience 
• Knowledge of HCE Business Center 
• Knowledge of construction practices and how machines build sites
• Knowledge of construction standards and ADA requirements

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Understanding of civil engineering principles and construction processes
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineers and stakeholders
