Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Civil and Structural Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineering supervisors and engineers. The ideal candidate will oversee civil and structural engineering assignments associated with designing equipment, components, structures, or systems, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities- Manage a team of engineering supervisors and engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure project success.
- Lead and coordinate civil and structural engineering projects from concept through completion, adhering to project timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and address engineering challenges.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and promote professional development within the team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and collaboration within the engineering department.
- Oversee adherence to safe design practices, while focusing on identifying cost saving opportunities
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- 15 to 20 years of progressive experience in civil and structural engineering.
- Prior supervisory/managerial experience, demonstrating strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Solid foundation and structural engineering background, with a deep understanding of engineering principles and best practices.
- Working knowledge of the design of steel and concrete structures preferred.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as STADD, SACS, MAT 3D, or similar programs.
- Working knowledge of structural design codes (AISC, ACI, API, IBC, etc.) preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
