Civil Construction Estimator – Heavy Highway (On-Site)

Location: Louisiana
Salary: $100,000–$120,000 DOE + Discretionary Bonus
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site (Pet-Friendly Office)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join our growing Project Management Team. This role is ideal for a seasoned estimator with a strong background in Heavy Highway and Civil Construction, including concrete paving, site work, and underground utilities. You will play a key role in preparing accurate, competitive bids for state and federally funded projects across Louisiana.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy highway and civil construction projects
• Perform quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications
• Review plans, scopes of work, and Louisiana state & federal bid requirements
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes
• Develop full estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead
• Support bid strategy and assist leadership with go/no-go decisions
• Collaborate with Project Managers on project financial planning and execution
• Maintain estimating databases, vendor lists, and cost history

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 10+ years of Heavy Highway Construction estimation experience
• Strong background in concrete paving, site work, underground utilities, drainage, sewer & water
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid and Primavera P6
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD for plan review and take-offs
• Excellent contract interpretation and plan reading skills
• Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration abilities
• Stable work history and in-office availability (5 days/week)

Preferred Experience

• Field experience in civil or highway construction
• Established relationships with Louisiana subcontractors and suppliers
• Experience bidding DOTD and municipal projects
