Civil Engineer

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Planning & Development team located in Wheaton, IL. This position provides the opportunity to contribute to the larger mission through applying civil engineering practices to the planning, design and construction of the district's public works engineering projects.

Compensation

Salary $90,334.00 to $101,712.00 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced civil engineer with full cycle civil design experience who has experience interacting with contractors on construction sites. This role involves preparing engineering plans, design, calculations, research and permits necessary for implementation of capital improvement projects. The role will assist in the evaluation and inspection of the work of contractors to ensure compliance and will require wearing various PPE including safety boots, glasses and vests. The position is based out of the Wheaton Headquarters office and will require driving District vehicles to construction sites.

Schedule

Schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field


• Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Illinois, or the ability to obtain licensure within one year


• 3 years experience with CAD Civil 3D


• Project management involving the full cycle of civil design experience


• Construction site experience including interaction with contactors onsite
