We are seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer with proven experience in quality control and design of asphalt, concrete, and soils projects. The capability to lead and supervise field and laboratory teams. This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials meet project and regulatory standards while mentoring junior staff and coordinating testing operations across multiple projects. Ideal candidates will demonstrate both technical proficiency and strong leadership skills, with a passion for quality and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and familiarity with field and laboratory testing of construction materials (asphalt, concrete, soil) in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and project-specific standards.
Supervise and train technicians and junior engineers in proper testing procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
Review test data for accuracy and completeness; validate and sign off on final reports.
Manage scheduling and assignment of field/lab testing personnel for multiple projects.
Liaise with project managers, contractors, and clients to address material quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain calibration, certification, and proper functioning of testing equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality assurance, and control procedures.
Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement of quality systems and procedures.
Travel between Trimat Offices as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in materials testing and quality control, including supervisory responsibilities.
Relevant certifications such as ACI, NICET, WAQTC, or equivalent is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of construction materials, laboratory procedures, and regulatory standards.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
A Professional Engineering License is a plus.
