Join our team in Central Connecticut, where you'll collaborate closely with talented engineering professionals and lead projects that make a difference. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity, with occasional remote flexibility when necessary.

We're seeking an experienced civil engineering professional with 8+ years of relevant experience, demonstrated leadership skills, and an active Connecticut Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within one year. Candidates must reside in Connecticut and be able to commute to our Meriden office daily.

We're looking for a Civil Engineering Department Manager who is excited to lead our team, build strong client relationships, and help shape the future of our engineering projects.

Job Description

• Lead and mentor our civil engineering team, fostering collaboration, professional development, and technical excellence.
• Oversee the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely delivery.
• Manage transportation, municipal infrastructure, and other public works projects from concept through completion.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout engineering design, permitting, and construction administration.
• Build strong relationships with clients, municipalities, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate project schedules, resources, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Review engineering plans, technical reports, specifications, and design documents.
• Partner with our leadership team to improve departmental operations, support business growth, and identify new project opportunities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional civil engineering experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• Active Connecticut Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain Connecticut PE licensure within one year.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, mentoring professionals, or managing multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong background in civil engineering design, project management, and technical oversight.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strong client relationships.
• Transportation engineering, municipal engineering, public infrastructure, and CTDOT project experience preferred.
