Civil Engineering Principal

About the Role
OmniDesign is looking for a Director of Civil Engineering who combines technical expertise with the vision to grow a team and a business. In this role, you’ll lead design and delivery for public works and land development projects, mentor and inspire engineers, and serve as a trusted partner to clients. It’s a chance to take ownership of a high-impact department and play a defining role in scaling a growing firm.

Goals

1. Ensure Omni Design provides the best product and client experience as possible.
2. Gear the operations towards growth through staff mentorship and retention.

Responsibilities

Projects

• Act as the leader of the design process from design, and documentation standpoint for public works and land development projects. 
• Develop or perform QA/QC processes for project risk mitigation. 
• Assign people´s time efficiently through projects to meet budgets, timelines and deliverables as planned.
• Proposal development from a budgeting and technical stand-point for private and public work to produce competitive and winning bids

Leadership

• Coaching and mentoring team members
• Foster team building and collaboration atmosphere.
• Main contact for clients in key accounts.
• Maintain a positive interaction from contract negotiation to construction completion. 
• Attend conferences, events, and other networking opportunitiesin the community.

Qualifications and Skills 

• +18 Years of Project Experience in the Land Development and Public Works markets
• Experience  managing teams and developing proposals
• California P.E. License
• QSP/QSD Licensed (preferred)
• Project management
• Civil 3D
• AutoCAD
