Pay: $105,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year

Location

Jersey City, NJ. This is a primarily on-site opportunity designed for attorneys who value in-person collaboration and direct access to their team. Occasional remote work may be available when circumstances require it.

Note

Candidates must be admitted to the New Jersey Bar and have at least 1 year of litigation experience. We are open to attorneys from law firms, solo practices, and in-house environments when they bring meaningful litigation experience. More senior attorneys are also encouraged to apply, particularly those with a portable book of business.

Job Description

• Manage civil litigation matters through multiple stages of the case lifecycle
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation documents
• Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings and court appearances
• Research legal issues and develop practical litigation strategies
• Prepare and argue dispositive and procedural motions
• Handle settlement negotiations, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders
• Assist with trial preparation and take on increasing responsibility based on experience
• Work on a diverse range of civil disputes, including matters involving transportation and related industries

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Bar license in good standing
• 1+ years of civil litigation experience
• Experience with contested matters, discovery, motion practice, or depositions
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating effectively with a team
• Comfortable working primarily from the Jersey City office
• Maritime, aviation, transportation, travel, or related litigation experience is a plus but not required

• Salary Bands (Only if attorney role): 1 to 2 years: $105,000 to $125,000; 
• 3 to 5 years: $125,000 to $150,000; 
• 6 to 9 years: $150,000 to $180,000; 
• 10+ years: $180,000 to $225,000+
