CIVIL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

DUTIES:

Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks on assigned SRMC Engineering Teams. Structural engineering tasks include: analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs; design of concrete structures; design of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber and composite structures; foundation and anchorage design; structural analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident conditions; preparation of CSI specifications; and review of vendor documents.

Engineering services will be provided using SRMC processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRMC.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

BS Degree in Civil Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.

Area Security Access:

Candidate must demonstrate five (5) years' experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, and

OSHA. Candidate demonstrating experience in 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred.

Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field.

A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/1Os (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, fives days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRR holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.

A security clearance is not required.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
