Civil Superintendent - Clinton Engineering

Specializing in design-build, new construction, rehabilitation and renovation of commercial, industrial and municipal projects, CEC boasts a local, experienced workforce who self-perform in variety of trades from carpentry work to concrete paving, steel fabrication & erection, to excavation and more.

CEC is currently seeking a Civil Superintendent based in Clinton, Iowa.

Our Civil Superintendents are responsible for working closely with Project Managers and fellow team members to ensure accuracy on the job sites and assist in project completion and troubleshooting. Focusing on civil construction projects, this position is responsible for overseeing the field operations on multiple projects, including tracking production quantities and comparing to estimated costs in order to meet or exceed job specifications. In addition, the Superintendent is key to ensuring safety, supervising field personnel, and communicating effectively with multiple teams. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, trouble shooting, and critical thinking. 

What makes you successful in this position?

• Previous civil construction experience as a foreman or superintendent.


• Demonstrated leadership & coaching experience in a previous work environment. 


• Ability to read and interpret grading plans, specifications, plan, and drawings.  You must also be able to use an iPad and computer equipment regularly.


• Team player mentality and the desire to be a part of a successful, hard-working team.


• Superior time management and technical capacity skills.


• Enjoy working in a physical role.


• Candidates must possess a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

This position is based in Clinton, IA and will require some occasional job site travel within a 2-hour radius.
