Our professional staff provides cost-effective engineering solutions to our clients by working on their technical issues allowing them to remain focused on their primary business.
Job Duties:
Work closely on construction plans with clients, architects, and other professionals
Make drawings, specifications and computer models of structures for building contractors
Prepare reports, designs and drawings
Proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT, Microsoft Excel, and MS Office Suite
Develop design ideas using Revit and CAD software
Apply expert knowledge of the forces that act on various structures
Work with geotechnical engineers to investigate ground conditions and analyze results of soil sample and in-situ tests
Inspect buildings and analyze configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure
Examine structures at risk of collapse and advise how to improve their structural integrity, such as recommending removal or repair of defective parts or rebuilding the entire structure
Investigate the properties of materials like glass, steel and concrete, and advise which is most suitable
Liaise with construction contractors to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally sound
Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval
Prepare bids for tenders
Monitor and inspect work undertaken by contractors
Making sure that projects meet legal guidelines, environmental directives, and health and safety requirements
Supervise project teams
Give progress reports to clients and senior managers
Required Skills
A bachelor's degree in engineering
5 + Years’ experience desired
PE, FE or EIT. Must be able to achieve Professional Registration
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong mathematical ability
Computer literacy
Three-dimensional conceptual skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Diagrammatic skills
Attention to detail and ability to follow lead Engineer direction
Ability to liaise well with professionals from other disciplines
Familiarity with Florida Building Code

Company History
Improving communities across Florida since 1974.
During a time when the digital revolution was in its infancy, South Florida’s engineering industry began to shift toward its own revolution. Founded in 1974, Crain Engineering Company became the area’s foremost experts of forensic investigation, litigation, and construction evaluation. In 1992, another company, Atlantis Environmental, emerged to become the master of general, civil, and structural engineering in the Broward and Palm Beach county landscape.
As the industry continued to move under their guidance, opportunities arose for successful collaborations and project-based partnerships between the two engineering firms. Having a reliable business relationship that lasted over a decade became the solid foundation for Crain Engineering Company and Atlantis Environmental’s merger in 2006. Under a new name, Crain Atlantis, the company changed the local industry’s outlook by committing to one goal: to serve clients dutifully and creatively by offering streamlined, modern solutions to existing and emerging problems.
Since the merger, Crain Atlantis has combined strengths and resources to elevate engineering standards in the area and beyond. In continuance with its tradition of excellence, the company added an architecture department in 2015.
