Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Compliance Specialist with strong expertise in CJIS Security Policy, data protection, and regulatory compliance. This role will support public sector and law enforcement–related projects, ensuring that systems, processes, and personnel meet CJIS requirements.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with CJIS environments, audits, and security controls, and will be responsible for maintaining compliance across infrastructure, applications, and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with CJIS Security Policy across all systems and environments
  • Conduct CJIS audits, gap assessments, and risk analysis
  • Implement and monitor security controls aligned with CJIS, NIST, and FBI guidelines
  • Support CJIS certification processes and background check requirements
  • Develop and maintain CJIS-compliant documentation, SOPs, and policies
  • Work closely with IT, security, and project teams to enforce compliance standards
  • Monitor access controls, encryption, authentication, and data handling procedures
  • Provide guidance and training on CJIS compliance to internal teams
  • Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies when required

Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience with CJIS Security Policy (latest version)
  • Experience supporting CJIS audits or compliance programs
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53, 800-171, or similar frameworks
  • Experience in information security, compliance, or risk management
  • Understanding of data encryption, access control, and secure system architecture
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS clearance/background check
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications
  • CJIS certification or formal training
  • Experience working with law enforcement or government agencies
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) in CJIS context
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Security+
  • Experience with SIEM tools, identity management, and audit tools
