Claims Assistant, Intern

Location: Long Island City, NY (5 days in office)
Division: Risk Management/Compliance

Position Description:
EJ's Risk Management and Compliance team is seeking an intern to support the company's growth. This candidate possesses natural organizational talents and a strong professional foundation. This person should be someone who enjoys taking initiative and can work intuitively to manage all levels of tasks, duties, and projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

Comfortable and able to learn how to navigate insurance claims: general liability, auto, and workers comp
Fulfill subpoena requests
Base financial knowledge
Creating reports
Data analysis
Monitor and act when needed on prequalification software (i.e. ISN, PASSPort)
Updating internal databases
Administrative support when needed

Qualifications:

3+ years experience (a plus, not required)
Highly motivated team player
Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel required
Knowledge/experience of insurance/workers comp is a plus
Knowledge of legal/insurance terminology and processes
Not afraid to ask questions
Ability to foresee needs before they arise and come up with solutions to problems quickly
Strong organizational & multi-tasking skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

AnnualSalary Range: $60k-$75k
