About the Role:
The role of Utilization Management Support Specialist involves providing non-clinical administrative support to the Utilization Management clinical teams.
This includes assisting with tasks related to pre-service, utilization review, care coordination, and quality of care.
Responsibilities:

Perform member or provider related administrative support tasks such as benefit verification, authorization creation and management, inquiries, and case documentation.
Review authorization requests for initial determination and/or triage for clinical review and resolution.
Provide general support and coordination services for the department, including answering and responding to telephone calls, taking messages, letters, and correspondence, researching information, and assisting in problem-solving.
Would get the cases who need to have a discharge date entered in order to close out successfully, so their primary focus is basically going into these cases.
Identifying if there is a discharge date if there is not, reaching out to providers facilities obtaining this discharge date, having clinicals faxed in to verify the data
Education Qualification:

High School Diploma
Experience:

3 years experience in health care claims/service areas or office support
