Job Description - Claims Support Manager

What you will be doing:



  • Maintain document procedures and job aids for all Claims Support tasks.

  • Maintain team metrics, analyze, and report performance results to Claims leadership.

  • Monitor the performance of the Claims Support Representatives to ensure all assigned tasks are completed within defined deadlines, provide guidance as needed.

  • Monitor the processing of all incoming mail and e-mail to ensure proper scanning and/or indexing to the appropriate claim files.

  • Ensure all claim file requests are processed by the Claims Support staff in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Provide oversight of all claim reassignments, onboarding, offboarding, and/or team change requests.

  • Ensure Claims reports and rosters are updated to reflect all changes related to staffing and productivity.

  • Support and guide Claims Support Representative team with complex task assignments.

  • Oversee the input of First Notice of Loss Claims in Claims Management System, as needed.

  • Continuously evaluate, coordinate, and prioritize critical and time sensitive work items for the Claims Support team.

  • Provide leadership to team members and regularly conduct effective and timely structured Progress and Growth conversations.

  • Collaborate with Claims Leadership to proactively identify process improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions.

  • Facilitate a work environment that fosters and supports ethical decision-making and actions by motivating, promoting, and modeling ethical behavior, as well as executing job responsibilities in accordance with Slide's core values and policies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


What you have:
Education, Experience, and Licensing:



  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of a High School diploma and pertinent work experience is required.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with diverse types of claims in the Homeowner’s Property & Casualty insurance industry required.

  • Minimum 2 years of people leadership experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Florida insurance laws and Florida good faith claims handling required.

  • Active Florida 6-20 Resident All Lines Adjuster License is a plus.

  • Industry designations or certifications a plus.


Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:



  • Strong proficiency in MS Office programs including Excel, Word, etc.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on excellent customer service.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of property claims practices and legal terminology.

  • Ability to prioritize, plan and organize responsibilities.

  • Excels in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in a variety of claims-related platforms including but not limited to Xactimate and Guidewire.

  • Working knowledge to interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and department operational guidelines in daily functions.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation and communication skills.
