Class A CDL Driver - Tanker Endorsement

ASN Constructors is a joint venture of three international contractors (Acciona, Shikun & Binui and North American Construction Group) who will work with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and other area stakeholders to build a historic project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area from flood waters from the Red River. The CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting several types of construction equipment and materials throughout and between jobsites using tractor/trailer. Also hauling water to multiple jobsites.

Responsibilities:

• Load and unload various types of heavy equipment
• Be able to operate heavy equipment if needed
• Labor duties and tasks as necessary
• Thorough operational knowledge and skills of trucks and related equipment to be operated
• Work with project management teams and field workers to implement and device solutions to safety-related issues on project sites
• Knowledge of all USDOT & FMCSA safety regulations
• Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel and inspections for leaks and damage to vehicle prior to operation
• Ability to calculate weights of equipment with truck/trailer combo to stay within DOT permitting restrictions and guidelines
• Knowledge of FMCSA cargo securement rules and regulations
• Required to carry a current medical examiners certificate (FMCSR part 391.41)
• Must keep truck in a clean and orderly condition
• Demonstrate good organizational, planning and time management skills
• Other duties and tasks as necessary and/or assigned to effectively carry out job responsibilities and maximize the effectiveness of this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility
• Requires the ability to communicate clearly and interface effectively with a diverse group of field level employees
• Good MVR and PSP
• Ability to secure load with chains/straps and binder

Experience/Qualifications:

• 5 years of Tractor/trailer
• Heavy haul/stepdeck/RGN experience
• Tanker Endorsement required
• Previous experience with transporting construction equipment and materials
• Must have a current DOT Medical Card
• Must pass DOT physical and DOT Drug test
• Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License

Work Environment:

• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
• Noise levels in the work environment is usually loud
• Ability to wear and work in personnel protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vest

Physical Demands:
