Job Description - Class A CDL - Local Driver

Duties and Day-to-Day Responsibilities, but not limited to the following:



  • Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers.

  • Load and unload cargo.

  • Record cargo deliveries.

  • Refuel and clean vehicle.

  • Report road incidents to the dispatcher.

  • Follow traffic laws.

  • Inspect trucks and record issues.

  • Follow accident procedures.

  • Keep an activity log and log hours.

  • Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.

  • Plan routes using GPS system.

  • Get goods to the client on time.

  • Maintain a positive attitude with customers.

  • Keep commercial driver license up to date.


  


Minimum Training, Education, and Experience Requirements:




  • Class A CDL or commercial driver license.

  • Current TWIC card.

  • Must pass drug and alcohol test.

  • Must have clean driving record.

  • Must provide current MVR.

  • Must provide a medical certificate.

  • High school diploma.



  • Two years of experience working as a CDL A driver with no legal or safety incidents on record.

  • Will work in warehouse when there are no loads to drive or other duties at plant.

  • Overtime, weekend, night work may be required.



Preferred:



  • Completion of professional truck driving educational program.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

  • Enthusiasm for our products and desire to deliver them safely and on time.

  • Manufacturing environment.

  • Standing for long periods of time.

  • Job responsibilities can require working variable hours and some weekends

  • Potential of being gone all week running loads and picking up backhauls

  • Ability to perform in a fast paced operation that can run 24/7.

  • May be required to work in other departments.
