Cleaning Associate

  Farmer Joe’s Fresh Market is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and engaging individual to join our growing family! In this position associates are accountable for being part of the overall success of the daily maintenance operations. 

Responsibilities:

· Dusts the offices rooms, cleans all restrooms, vacuums, sweeps and mops the floors.

· Maintain over all cleanliness of the store.

· Communicate with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.

· Provides good customer service when speaking with customers.

· Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions of Farmer Joe’s Fresh Market.

· Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of the store.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years of age or older     
• Authorization to work in the United States
• High standard of integrity and reliability

Required Skills / Abilities:

· Attention to Detail: Ability to thoroughly clean and maintain areas by noticing small details that need attention, ensuring cleanliness standards are met consistently.

· Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure all cleaning duties are completed in a timely manner.

· Physical Stamina: Ability to perform cleaning tasks for extended periods, including bending, lifting, and standing for long durations.

· Knowledge of Cleaning Products and Equipment: Familiarity with various cleaning agents, chemicals, and tools, as well as proper handling and safety precautions.

· Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety protocols, including the proper handling of cleaning chemicals, the use of equipment, and ensuring the safety of others in the work environment.

· Organizational Skills: Ability to stay organized and keep track of cleaning schedules, supplies, and maintenance tasks.

· Manual Dexterity: Ability to perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination, such as scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, and mopping.

· Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other staff, especially when reporting maintenance issues or safety concerns.

· Adaptability: Ability to adjust to different cleaning tasks, work environments, and changing priorities, as well as handling occasional unscheduled tasks.

· Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues related to cleaning, such as identifying cleaning challenges or equipment malfunctions and finding solutions.

· Dependability and Reliability: Strong commitment to being punctual and consistent in completing assigned tasks on a regular basis.

Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

· Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and crouching

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly

· Repetitive hand and arm movements required for cleaning tasks (e.g., wiping, scrubbing, mopping)

· Comfortable using step stools or ladders to reach high places

· Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate cleaning equipment

· Ability to work with or around cleaning chemicals (proper protective gear provided)

· Ability to push/pull carts, vacuums, or floor cleaning machines

· Tolerance for standing or working in different indoor/outdoor environments, including warm, hot, or cool areas

· May require occasional kneeling or climbing depending on specific tasks
