Clerical Assistant

Position Overview:  The Clerical Assistant provides administrative and organizational support in the manufacturing plant.  Handles assigned reporting in appropriate manufacturing and accounting systems and all paperwork that is received in and shipped out each day.  Is responsible for providing quality customer service to all customers and assisting with questions and support.  This role is crucial for ensuring smooth daily operations and interacts with various departments and individuals to deliver on our customer service promise.

Essential Job Functions:

• Deliver support and customer service excellence in day-to-day engagements, by phone or in-person, with internal and external customers.
• Primary phone support/routing for incoming EMI main phone.
• Assist with special projects or tasks as needed.
• Enter all sales orders into Macola daily in a timely manner.
• Perform closing operations in Macola in a timely manner.
• Work with production, sales, and shipping to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
• Prepare documents and reports for management.
• Greet visitors and customers.
• Ensure office is clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Customer-service skills.
• Confidence and ability to interface professionally with a wide spectrum of customers. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines. 
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years work experience; customer service experience preferred.

• While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee will have prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee may be required to lift/carry objects of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• The working conditions are those of a normal office. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to dust and other particles found as part of the metal manufacturing process. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal/moderate.
