A BRIGHTER DAY BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER CLIENT TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST A Brighter Day Behavioral Health Center is an outpatient substance use disorder program providing individual, group, and intensive outpatient services to support individuals in their recovery journey. The Client Transportation Specialist plays a critical role in supporting client access to care by providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation to and from program services. This position is more than driving—it is an extension of the therapeutic environment, requiring a calm, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach that fosters emotional safety, trust, and respect during every interaction. By helping remove transportation barriers, this role directly contributes to client engagement, continuity of care, and overall recovery outcomes.

Client Transportation & Support
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational policies
Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and readiness
Maintain vehicle cleanliness to support a welcoming and professional environment
Report any vehicle issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly
Respond appropriately to incidents and follow reporting protocols
Safety & Vehicle Management
Safely transport clients to and from school, work, substance use and mental health treatment medical appointments, and recovery-related activities
Provide a supportive, respectful, and trauma-informed environment during all interactions
Foster a calm and emotionally safe atmosphere that promotes dignity and trust
Monitor and reinforce appropriate behavior and safety protocols during transport
Assist with basic client needs as appropriate while maintaining professional boundaries
Communication & Coordination
Communicate effectively with program staff regarding schedules, delays, and client needs
Coordinate transportation logistics to support timely and efficient service delivery
Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and adaptability in a dynamic schedule environment
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate transportation logs, including mileage, attendance, and trip details
Uphold client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards
Ensure documentation is completed thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner
Conduct and document quarterly fire drills in accordance with organizational safety policies and regulatory requirements
Professional Responsibilities
Demonstrate accountability, punctuality, and consistency in all assigned duties
Maintain a trauma-informed, person-centered approach in all interactions
Support a team culture grounded in communication, respect, and shared purpose
Complete required trainings including Driver Safety, CPR, First Aid, and Narcan Bystander Administration and maintain necessary certifications
Attend and actively participate in scheduled team meetings, trainings, and case coordination discussions to support communication and continuity of care
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in transportation, healthcare, behavioral health, or human services preferred
Experience working with individuals with substance use or mental health disorders strongly preferred
Requirements and Skills
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries
Understanding of or willingness to learn trauma-informed care principles
Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing schedules
Ability to sit for extended periods and remain attentive during transport
Schedule Availability The Client Transportation Specialist is expected to be available Monday through Friday between 8:00a.m. and 8:00p.m. to support client transportation needs. This role is not structured as a continuous 12-hour shift; scheduled trips typically include extended breaks (generally 3–4 hours) between assignments. Flexibility is required to accommodate varying schedules while maintaining a consistent, reliable presence for clients.
Additional Requirements
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
