JOB SUMMARY: The Clinic Nurse Manager will supervise activities of the clinical care teams responsible for care of persons living with HIV/AIDS and for HIV-negative patients enrolled in the Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Programs, and assist in managing day-to-day operations of the clinic. The Clinic Nurse Manager reports to the Clinic Site Coordinator and ultimately the Director of Clinical Care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Management Responsibilities (50%)
- Manage daily clinic operations for an outpatient HIV clinic including:
- Plan work schedules and clinic staff assignments. Monitor time and attendance of direct reports as outlined in PIHC’s Time and Attendance Policy.
- Supervise and train clinic nursing and support staff. Design and implement trainings for clinical staff.
- Monitor use of staff, services and facilities to maximize efficiency
- Supervise payroll and reviews of direct reports.
- Provide progressive feedback and improvement plans for direct reports as needed
- Monitor medical supply inventory and oversee purchasing of supplies
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines and requirements
- Assist in evaluation of quality and effectiveness of programs and services
- Collaborate with other Departments, Clinic Site Coordinator, Department Director, medical providers and Medical Director to address clinic issues and system changes
- Support the agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement program.
- Assist with updates of clinic standard operating procedures, standing orders and protocols.
Clinical Responsibilities (50%)
- Conduct patient histories and physical examinations within scope of practice
- Perform or order appropriate laboratory studies and accurately document care provided
- Analyze and evaluate findings from histories, physical exam and lab data within scope of practice
- Identify and treat specified sexually transmitted infections (STIs) by standardized protocols and standing orders
- Provide treatments, administer medications and vaccines, and provide preventative and maintenance care to clients according to clinic protocols
- Assist in proper management and administration of injectable medications for PrEP and HIV management
- Assist with medication refill requests and refill as outlined by clinic protocols and standing orders
- Assist healthcare providers with Prior Authorizations and Appeals as needed
- Provide adherence, sexual health, and risk reduction counseling and education. Assess clients’ adherence and tolerance of medications and treatment plans.
- Perform or oversee phone triage with patients, including triage of patients calling with acute concerns. Assess for emergency needs and refer as necessary for emergency services.
- Abide by all state and agency policies regarding confidentiality of client information
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records. Document all patient interactions consistent with PIHC policies and procedures.
- Report infectious diseases to the Department of Public Health with Clinical RN
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop holistic care plans
