Job Description - Clinical Coordinator

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB) is currently searching for a dynamic Clinical Coordinator to join our Boston team. The Clinical Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our busy clinic.  This non-exempt position focuses on optimizing patient flow, enhancing team performance through mentorship and leadership, and delivering exceptional patient experiences.  The Clinical Coordinator will serve as a key point of contact for clinical staff, proactively addressing operational challenges and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

This position is fulltime onsite Mon day through Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Patient Flow and Clinic Operations-Monitor and optimize patient flow, identifying and 
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship-Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to clinical staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Quality Control and Inventory Management
  • Operational Efficiency
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Efficient organizational skills which require heightened multitasking capabilities. 
  • Knowledge about operational issues, goals and how to improve patient flow.
  • Ability to conduct full ophthalmic workups including diagnostic testing as necessary.
  • Proven ability to work well in a leadership capacity.
  • Empathetic personality with concern for patients’ needs.
  • Always maintains a positive professional demeanor and “can-do” attitude.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Certified as ophthalmic assistant COA, technician COT, or medical technologist COMT.
  • A minimum of three years’ clinical experience required.
  • Working and practical knowledge of all aspects regarding ophthalmic patient care.
  • Demonstrated skills in motivating clinical staff.
  • Knowledge of Epic a plus.
  • College degree a plus.
