Location: Hartford and Windsor, CT
Employment Type: Full-Time (On-Site)
Salary: $220,000 - $292,500 annually

Position Overview:

The Clinical Director of Adult Medicine leads the Adult Medicine Department, provides high-quality patient care and clinical excellence within CHS, a comprehensive community-based health service organization. This role combines direct clinical care with administrative oversight, supporting provider workflow, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.

Qualifications

  • Education: MD/DO from an accredited medical school
  • Licensure:
    • Board Certification: Internal Medicine/Family Medicine (required)
    • Physician License in the State of CT (preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Experience working in community health or a large practice setting.
    • Experience supervising clinical staff and providers.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of compliance, quality improvement, and data-driven decision making.
    • Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
  • Skills:
    • Superior communication and leadership skills.
    • Initiative, discretion, problem-solving aptitude.
    • Ability to work efficiently with underserved populations.
    • Comfort with strategic goals, enterprise projects, and clinical data analysis.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • All new hires must be vaccinated for COVID-19 unless exempt for a documented reason.
    • No security clearance required; Visa candidates not considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight of all adult medicine operations.
  • Deliver direct patient care as a board-certified Internal or Family Medicine Physician.
  • Lead department initiatives including diabetes management (NCQA-recognized), Ryan White program, and care team collaboration.
  • Oversee provider workflow, satisfaction, and schedule adherence.
  • Assist recruitment, onboarding, retention, and discipline for clinical staff.
  • Supervise APRNs and PAs.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant clinical standards and requirements.
  • Develop and implement departmental strategic goals, and contribute to organization-wide projects.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Analyze and present clinical data for program evaluation.

Physical Examination Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical exams and chronic disease management for the adult patient population, ensuring quality standards and compliance.

Medical Oversight Responsibilities:

  • Oversee clinical guidelines, protocols, and performance.
  • Lead quality improvement and professional practice review activities.
  • Coordinate with other departments for an integrated patient care.
