Job Description - Clinical Director

We are looking for a Licensed Clinical Therapist to join our well-respected New Horizons team in Goldthwaite, TX. This position will lead a clinical team

, supervise therapist,

provide

therapy, screening, assessment, consultation, and follow-up to children, adolescents and adults

while maintaining a comfortable, safe environment. Therapists function as a resource for children placed by DFPS, community Foster Parents, and their families. Clinical Directors are instrumental parts of the interdisciplinary treatment team and must adhere to and uphold the Policies and Philosophy of New Horizons as well as government issued codes, standards and regulations. All New Horizons’ Staff are expected to study, practice and operate within the New Horizons’ Philosophy of Keeping Kids First.
Keeping Kids First requires that every decision and action be motivated by and geared toward meeting the highest need of the individual kid. New Horizons will not tolerate anyone who is not committed to keeping kids safe from abuse, neglect and exploitation.

Clinical Director Responsibilities Include:

Work with program administrators to ensure compliance with QRTP, COA, DFPS, and 2INgage requirements and standards.
Ensure adherence to New Horizon’s Philosophy and Guidelines in the RTC environment and throughout service delivery.
Administrative and clinical supervision of assigned therapist(s).
Work with intake coordinator/care coordinator to review child referrals and make recommendations for placement.
Assign therapist caseloads.
Monitor and train to ensure quality clinical services to kids and families.
Review admissions, 72-hour, and service plans for quality and compliance.
Attend treatment plan meetings for children and offer guidance and recommendations.
Review safety plans and specialized treatment plans.
Work with Director of Training to help train New Horizons employees about trauma and other issues that impact “kids from hard places”.
Assist in training other subjects as needed, i.e., TBRI, EBI, first aid, normalcy, etc.
Ensure weekly clinical meetings are held and facilitate or delegate facilitator responsibilities as needed.
Participate in all meetings in which clinical direction is required, needed, recommended, or requested.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with community partners, i.e., 2INgage, DFPS, law enforcement, attorneys, judges, CASA, etc.
Maintain partial youth caseload.
Become and maintain CANS certification.
Maintain licensure and remain in good standing.
Model, build, and develop quality leadership skills in team.
Demonstrate and develop positive and effective communication with team members and all community partners.
Continue to develop therapeutic and supervision skills and abilities through continuing education and learning.
In Therapist Role:

Facilitating individually tailored therapy sessions with individuals and families.
Communicating and working with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the therapeutic needs of the kids and adolescents in foster care are met and to determine the best practice for meeting those needs and the needs of the families.
Collaborating to develop individualized treatment plans.
Accurately completing and maintaining required documentation and case notes per New Horizons’ policy and state issued Minimum Standards including treatment plan updates and progress notes.
Developing, conducting and monitoring appropriate therapeutic tasks, to assist each kid or adult in accomplishing their treatment goals.
Position Qualifications Include:

Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy or another qualifying social services field.
Applicants must be fully Licensed in the State of Texas in their respective fields. Accepted licensures: LPC, LMFT or LCSW. With 5 years’ experience in providing treatment services. Background in Residential Care is preferred.
Applicants must be eligible for Medicaid Billing.
Applicants with a strong clinical background in trauma based therapeutic approaches (Trauma Informed Care and Trauma Resolution) are preferred.
Experience in Crisis Intervention or Play Therapy is a plus.
Applicants must have insight and understanding of cultural diversity and have the ability to work with a diverse population;
Be able to perform conflict resolution and crisis intervention; and
Applicants must pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and tuberculosis screening.
