Clinical Director (LMSW or LPC) – Lead & Grow a Thriving Clinic

We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Clinical Director to lead the growth and development of clinicians and to drive the success of our rapidly expanding outpatient mental health clinic in Clinton Township. About the Role
As Clinical Director, you’ll balance direct clinical care with strategic leadership. You will oversee clinic operations, guide and mentor clinicians, and ensure quality, compliance, and performance standards are consistently met. This role is ideal for someone who is energized by developing people, building teams, and fostering a culture of collaboration and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead & Inspire: Hire, onboard, and train new clinical staff, fostering growth and engagement from day one. Lead team meetings and team building activities.
Develop Talent: Provide ongoing supervision, case consultation, and clinical oversight for up to up to 10 direct reports.
Balance Care & Leadership: Maintain an average caseload of 15 clients per week while overseeing clinic operations.
Ensure Quality & Compliance: Monitor documentation, uphold regulatory standards, and ensure best practices in care delivery.
Drive Performance: Track clinic metrics, hold staff accountable, and implement strategies to achieve hiring, retention, and productivity goals.
Build Culture: Create an inclusive, supportive, and growth-oriented clinic environment where clinicians feel valued and empowered.
Metrics & Expectations
Billable Hours/Week: 15
Supervision Capacity: 8–10 clinicians
Performance Accountability: Clinic hiring, retention, and productivity benchmarks
Requirements:
- Master’s degree and full Michigan licensure as:
- LMSW – Licensed Master Social Worker (Clinical)
- LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a fee-for-service private practice or outpatient setting
- Strong organizational, operational, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of Michigan mental health regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial clinic environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Practicing in or near Clinton Township, MI
- Credentialed with major payers (Optum, BCBS MI, Cigna, Aetna)
