We are a growing outpatient mental health practice serving adults, adolescents, and families across New York. Our clinical team of licensed therapists delivers evidence-based individual, group, and family treatment in a collaborative, client-centered environment. As we expand, we are hiring a Clinical Director to lead clinical quality, supervision, and program development across the practice.
The Role
The Clinical Director is the senior clinical leader of the practice. You will own the quality of care delivered, supervise and develop the clinical team, and partner with practice leadership on growth, compliance, and operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for a licensed clinician who wants to shape how a practice runs, not just manage a caseload.
What You'll Do
Clinical Leadership
Set and uphold clinical standards across all programs and modalities
Oversee intake, assessment, treatment planning, and discharge processes
Serve as the escalation point for high-risk cases, crisis situations, and complex clinical decisions
Maintain a reduced direct-service caseload
Supervision & Staff Development
Provide individual and group clinical supervision to LMSWs, LMHCs, and licensed clinicians
Lead hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluation for the clinical team
Build training and continuing-education programming that strengthens clinical skill and retention
Quality & Compliance
Ensure documentation, treatment plans, and clinical records meet NYS OMH, Medicaid, and payer requirements
Lead utilization review, chart audits, and quality-improvement initiatives
Maintain readiness for regulatory surveys and accreditation reviews
Program Development & Operations
Partner with leadership on new service lines, specialty programs, and expansion planning
Monitor productivity, scheduling, and access-to-care metrics
Represent the practice with referral partners, community organizations, and payers
What You Bring
Required
Active NYS LCSW license in good standing
5+ years of post-licensure clinical experience in outpatient mental health
3+ years in a supervisory or program leadership role (Clinical Director, Program Director, Associate Clinical Director, Senior Clinical Supervisor, or equivalent)
Working knowledge of NYS OMH regulations and outpatient mental health compliance
Experience with EHR systems and clinical documentation standards
Preferred
LCSW-R designation
SIFI certification or documented experience supervising social work interns
Experience in an OMH-licensed Article 31 clinic or similar regulated outpatient setting
Background in quality improvement, utilization review, or accreditation (CARF, Joint Commission)
Bilingual (Spanish or other languages relevant to the community served)
