Clinical Lab Scientist/MLS/Med Tech (20 minutes from Chico, CA)

A healthcare system that services California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington and that has over 235 clinics and outpatient centers as well as almost 20 hospitals with more than 2,700 beds is looking for a Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist.

Job Purpose

Supervises phlebotomists, offers suggestions and provides guidance as needed. Performs

specimen processing and testing using standard lab practices and quality control.

Maintains compliance with: Environmental safety, Infection Control, Emergency Response/Disaster

Participates in departmental performance improvement and quality assurance activities. Understands how

they relate to their position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Adjusts daily work assignments to meet the demands of the department.

Demonstrates a working knowledge of the technical aspects of the laboratory; e.g., proper maintenance of equipment, interpretation of data, etc.

Per the scope of license, trainee can only review and perform patient testing.

Properly uses and maintains tools and equipment in compliance with department and hospital policies and standards.

Supervises phlebotomists, offers suggestions and provides guidance, as needed.

Education and Qualifications

Minimum Work Experience: Computer skills required.

Required Licenses/Certifications: *California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
