314The Clinical Manager of Rehab supports the overall Mission and Vision of Valley Health by providing the highest quality and best-practice service to its customers. The Clinical Manager has oversight of a designated service area, which may include multiple locations. The role is directly responsible for organization and management of daily department operations. The role supports standardized clinical operations and processes for hospitals and outpatient facilities while fostering an environment of employee and provider engagement, and a culture of high reliability. This role maintains clinical competency and provides clinical care to patients to meet expectations set by rehab leadership.
The Clinical Manager supports financial performance, quality, patient safety, clinical effectiveness, outcomes management and risk management. They monitor and assure departmental compliance with current standards of governmental and regulatory agencies such as CMS, TJC, and will prepare for and participate in inspections, surveys, or inquiries, providing appropriate documentation as necessary.
Education
Master’s or Doctorate degree in clinical specialty (PT, OT, Speech) required.
Experience
5 years of management experience with progressive responsibilities required.
One to three years of supervisory experience in a related discipline preferred.
Clinical competency in area of expertise; minimum of 5 years of clinical experience preferred.
Certification & Licensures
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required. New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine to practice as a Physical, Speech or Occupational Therapist required, or West Virginia license in specialty area or Compact agreement for West Virginia required, based on state of work assignment.
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary for dealing effectively with staff, patients, visitors and others required.
Ability to prioritize workload and work productively under stress required.
Ability to display a professional demeanor and positive attitude required.
Ability to understand health care finance, reimbursement strategies and financial operations required.
Basic computer proficiency and keyboarding skills in MS Office/Windows applications required.
Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs, which may apply to the age of the persons served required.
