Job Summary


The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the orientation, competency, and ongoing education of clinical staff. This role designs and manages orientation programs, oversees preceptors and the new nurse residency program, and leads annual competency initiatives such as skills weeks, simulations, and clinical education days. As a clinical staff member, the educator may also provide hands-on teaching and in-the-moment training, serving as a mentor and resource for our nursing team.


Key Responsibilities




  • Develop, implement, and evaluate orientation programs for clinical staff




  • Monitor and adjust new staff orientation plans as needed




  • Partner with department directors to manage staff orientation and annual competency programs




  • Facilitate student nurse experiences in collaboration with nursing schools




  • Design and deliver simulation scenarios to support education needs and trauma preparedness




  • Provide ongoing clinical guidance, mentorship, and in-services for nursing staff




  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care and professional development




  • Integrate evidence-based practice and industry trends into educational programming




  • Manage online learning platforms and instructional technologies




  • Contribute to policy and procedure development related to patient care and staff development
