Job Summary:
We are seeking a
CLINICAL NURSE II - Pediatric Triage RN
for
Duke Children's Specialty Creekstone
located in
Durham, NC
to be an integral member of the healthcare team to support Endocrinology, Nephrology, Infectious Disease, Medical Genetics, and Hematology providers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs (including manual blood pressures), administering survey tools, conducting educational assessments (patients/guardians), medication review, assisting patients with preparing questions for provider visit, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting,
Completing procedural tasks including:
administering specialty medication injections, insulin administration/verification, oral medications according to protocols and provider orders.
Full assessments as needed.
Monitor patients for potential reactions to therapy administered. Provide patient/family education for specialty injections and assess for understanding, bill for nursing procedures.
Place ambulatory BP monitors, provide patient education for operation, download upon
Documentation in electronic health record and NCIR.Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Job Eligibility Requirements:
Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.
Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
