Position Summary
This is a unique opportunity for a credentialed Athletic Trainer (ATC) to move beyond the training room and into a strategic, field-based role. As our Clinical Outreach Specialist, you’ll be the face of Genesis in the community—visiting physician offices, urgent care centers, FQHCs, and schools to build referral relationships and educate providers about our orthopedic, physical therapy, and imaging services.
You’ll use your healthcare background to establish trust and credibility, while helping referring offices connect their patients with the timely, affordable care they deserve.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in-person visits to primary care offices, urgent care centers, and other referral sources to promote Genesis services and build trusted relationships.
Leverage your clinical background to effectively communicate how Genesis supports musculoskeletal care, including post-injury recovery, surgical options, and PT integration.
Educate referring providers and their staff on referral workflows, appointment access, and clinical differentiators.
Serve as a key point of contact for referral partners, ensuring they feel supported and aligned with Genesis’ mission.
Track referral activity and feedback using CRM tools and internal dashboards.
Collaborate with internal marketing and operations teams to ensure alignment on messaging and patient readiness.
Represent Genesis at community events, school health fairs, and local provider forums.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training
Current ATC certification and licensure in Illinois (or eligibility)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with clinical audiences
Organized and self-motivated; able to manage a territory independently
Comfortable working in the field and traveling within the Chicagoland region
Passionate about improving access to care and building community relationships
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in a physician clinic, physical therapy setting, or with outreach/sales is a plus
Bilingual (especially Spanish) a plus
Familiarity with orthopedic care pathways and musculoskeletal referrals
