Location: Bethesda North Hospital at 10500 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242 

Work Schedule:

• Full-Time (80 hours bi-weekly)
• Days
• No weekends, no holidays

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or other related field. (Required)
• 3 - 4 years Clinical experience in Nursing in the specialty area of patient care relevant to the assignment and/or other extensive clinical, medical surgical or critical care experience. (Required) 
• 2 - 3 years’ Experience in data analysis and reporting. (Preferred)
• Knowledge in the field of specialty area of patient care relevant to the assignment. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. 
• Knowledge in quality improvement processes. 
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Job Overview:

The Clinical Quality Data Abstractor reports to the Clinical Quality Data Team Manager. This team member assists in the overall goals for TriHealth by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and meaningful use of clinical data by abstracting and analyzing key quality metrics in compliance with regulatory guidelines. The team member is expected to be the content expert in his/her assigned databases, and work collaboratively with the clinical, and clinical quality shared services support teams to ensure quality improvement initiatives are data driven. This includes assisting in identifying trends and opportunities for improvement within the data as well as monitoring ongoing progress and sustainability. Current databases include but are not limited to the Society of Thoracic Surgery (STS), the American College of Cardiology (NCDR), the American Heart Association -Get with the Guidelines-, Congestive Heart Failure, Stroke, Cardiogenic shock, Aortic Stenosis, APACHE Outcomes, ELSO, Intermacs, HQR, etc.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collects all data utilizing applicable criteria/definitions established by the database assigned. 
• Ensures accuracy and reliability through routine standardized validation and/or IRR processes as established by the registry. 
• Effectively communicates to the clinical and quality resources teams the relevant data metrics while demonstrating knowledge of current clinical practice guidelines. 
• Attends registry webinars and meetings to communicate changes/updates to the clinical teams and clinical quality resources. 
• Works collaboratively with clinical and quality teams to effective measurement of registry data and opportunities of improvement using a standardized process. 
• Meets all registry and hospital-based assigned submission dates. 
• Participates in all quality meetings with the clinical and quality teams.
