Propel Insurance, an Alera Group Company is looking for a Clinical Risk Control Specialist to join their team!

The Clinical Risk Control Specialist is responsible for assisting and supporting current and potential clients in all phases of Senior Care providing quality improvement, loss prevention, and control assistance with sample tools, education, and recommendations. The interface will be at both operational and clinical levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide consulting services to current and prospective Propel Insurance clients as directed by the Director of Risk Management Support Services.
  • Development of reports for interpretation of all levels of clients.
  • Problem-solving based on loss control data and statistical information.
  • Educational program development and delivery.
  • Program and protocol development to manage risks.
  • Recordkeeping: financial expenses and timeline notes of client activity.
  • Identify service areas through field surveys, loss summary, survey reviews, and claims history.
  • Develop and conduct educational programs as requested by agents for marketing.
  • Be available to claims representatives for support for loss prevention, control, and mitigation.
  • Product Development.
  • Service agendas based on loss history survey results and client operational structure.
  • Points from Propel based on identified needs and current industry updates.
  • Audit tools and report formats.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of:
    • Risk management process and concepts.
    • Employee safety and OSHA guidelines.
    • Financial Risk Transfer Concepts.
    • Insurance Terminology.
    • Medical malpractice and healthcare-related claims process.
    • External and internal cumulative data analysis.
  • Registered Nurse with 5 to 10 years of experience at clinical and operational levels.
  • Certification in Risk Management preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of all phases of senior care.
  • Preferred experience in extended care at the operational level with working knowledge of reimbursement, new structure growth, and acquisitions.
  • Professional licensing, as required, by statutory regulations and/or company requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and schedule time efficiently.
  • Comfortable with public speaking at state and national levels.
  • Ability to prepare and present detailed risk management plans based on global carrier data, current loss ratio, claims information, and risks identified.
  • Ability to analyze cumulative data utilizing carrier loss runs, client data reports, or web-based dashboards and offer correlating recommendations.
  • This position is 80% travel and home office-based.
