Clinical Scheduling Specialist - OBGYN

Please note: This is an on-site position, located at Riverview Health's Noblesville Hospital location.

Job Summary

Schedule surgical procedures generated from OBGYN clinic appointments.  This position coordinates all aspects of scheduling surgical procedures, including obtaining necessary documentation, coordinating with physicians, hospital, and patients, and ensuring that all pre-operative requirements are completed.  Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the patient charting system.

Job Responsibilities

• Schedule surgical procedures generated from clinic appointments.  Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the patient charting system.


• Submit electronic health record elements to payers in accordance with information security and technology requirements.


• Assist office clinical staff with proper workflow to ensure accurate documentation to support quality reporting requirements.


• Accurately review and document health care standards and follow written guidance to ensure 100% compliance with regulatory and financial guidelines.  


• Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent


• Preferred: Prior endoscopy and/or surgery scheduling experience or related experience

Experience Requirements

• Minimum:  Six (6) months or more Medical Experience or physician billing/coding experience in a physician practice setting.  


• Preferred: Three (3) or more years of experience with physician billing/coding experience, previous patient care experience in a physician practice setting.  Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, data entry and clinical documentation.

License/Certification Requirements

• Minimum: None
