CLINICAL STAFF PHARMACIST I

\n\nGeneral Summary/Responsibilities:\n\n \n\nStatus: Full-time: *40 Hours per week (80 hours per pay period)\n\nDepartment: Pharmacy\n\nFacility: Miami Valley Hospital\n\n \n\nUnder the supervision of Pharmacy Leadership and according to standard procedures; compounds and dispenses medications and provides pharmaceutical care upon receiving provider orders; performs all duties necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs; responsible for medication dosing and monitoring by provider referral; active participant in codes; supervises interns and technicians in all work areas assigned; participates in training pharmacy students and technicians; participates in clinical research protocols and drug therapy research activities.\n\n \n\n \n\nQualifications\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nEducation\n\n \n\nMinimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor\u0027s degree\n\n \n\nAdditional requirements:\n\n * \n * Type of degree: B.S.Pharm from an accredited college of pharmacy is required\n * Area of study or major: Pharmacy\n * Preferred educational qualifications: PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy\n * Position specific testing requirement: N/A\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\nLicensure/Certification/Registration\n\n\\- Current licensure as a registered pharmacist by the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy, or eligibility to become licensed within 60 days of employment start date within 60 days of employment start date.\n\n \\- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 90 days of employment start date\n\n \n\nExperience\n\n \n\nMinimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience\n\nPrior job title or occupational experience: N/A\n\nPrior specific functional responsibilities: N/lA\n\nPreferred experience: Greater than or equal to a six month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital experience as a pharmacist.\n\nOther experience requirements: Exclusive retail experience \u2013 greater than 5 years discouraged; greater than 10 years disqualifies candidate\n\n \n\nKnowledge/Skills\n\n \n\n \n\n * Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills\n * Ability to read and write printed material in English\n * Ability to effectively perform patient interviews and medication counseling\n * Ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as a team\n * Proficient with aseptic technique when utilizing both horizontal and vertical flow hoods\n * Must be customer-service oriented\n * Proficiency with computer keyboard operations\n * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred\n * Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy. Must be familiar with pharmacy software\n * Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers\n\n\n
