POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Admissions & Community Support Services, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight and operation of Shelter In-Reach Services provided to consumers residing within the Harlem and Casa Esperanza shelters. These services must align with VIP Community Services’ approved policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality substance use disorder and harm reduction services. The Clinical Supervisor will provide direct services to shelter residents with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (SUD) and supervise the Peer Support Workers.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
· Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the homeless shelter in-reach project.
· Supervise homeless in-reach clinicians and peers; confers with in-reach staff regularly regarding techniques used, case progress, and related matters for the purpose of promoting and evaluating professional development and assuring quality of care.
· Conduct regular case conferences with clinicians and peers for consultation.
· Coordinate the assignment of cases and coordinates training for staff.
· Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, guidelines, goals and objectives of the project.
· Provide consultation to shelter staff regarding addiction services, programs, and guidelines.
· Ensure data is submitted in a timely and consistent manner and submits project related reports as requested.
· Provide coordination of treatment and transitional planning as needed.
· Provide harm reduction education and awareness to shelter staff and clients on a regular basis: presentations, office hours, signage, etc.
· Develop and maintain referral relationships with local harm reduction and substance use/behavioral health care providers.
· Conduct information sessions to provide an opportunity for shelter residents to gain information and resources related to addiction.
· Conduct intake screenings and assessments
· Facilitate scheduled individual and group counseling sessions on an ongoing basis
· Develop client treatment plans and discharge plans
· Act as a liaison for clients in accessing resources to support recovery goals
· Assist clients with gaining access to MAT
· Provide clinical supervision and training to assigned staff.
· Meet with the Shelter Supervisor and DHS Program Coordinator regularly to achieve project deliverables.
· Attend project related meetings facilitated by OASAS and DHS.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· Graduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or related field preferred.
· A minimum of two (2) years administrative and clinical experience in a substance use disorder treatment or human service setting required
· One (1) year experience in a clinical supervisory role preferred.
· Qualified Mental Health Professional (e.g., LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, CRC, Ph.D., MSN, CASAC, etc.) required.
· Ability to interact effectively with all populations served.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Proficiency with computer operation (Microsoft Word, Excel, Electronic Health Record and Outlook programs)
· Ability to speak, read and write the English language, additional languages preferred (Spanish)
· Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
· This position will require availability as needed including on call responsibilities.
JOB SETTING:
· Shelter setting.
· Must possess sight, hearing and digital senses or prosthetics that ensure the completion of the essential functions of the Clinical Supervisor.
· Occasionally must lift a maximum of 10 lbs.
