Job Description - Clinical Supervisor Foster Care and System of Care

SUMMARY:  The Clinical Supervisor of Foster Care and System of Care will provide guidance, instruction and direct supervision to assigned Foster Care and System of Care staff. Under administrative direction, the Supervisor will provide guidance, instruction and direct supervision to assigned staff.  They will ensure the programs comply with ODJFS child welfare and OMHAS standards of care. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor will guide staff in the utilization of a team based care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership and supervision to the program and staff including, but not limited to, hiring, supervision, retention, evaluation, disciplinary actions and termination of employees as well as weekly supervision and attendance at home visits as required.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of own and staff's assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.  All documentation to be submitted within set program deadlines.
  • Monitor and sign off on staff completion of case files, including case openings, ITPs, 90 day treatment reviews, case notes and case closings. 
  • Track staff productivity on a weekly basis and assists, as needed, with the development of improvement strategies. 
  • Monitor and facilitate staff development of skills in delivery of the ODMH defined services,  ODJFS child welfare, team based care aka wraparound, and family systems, as well as, adherence to agency policies and procedures. 
  • Implement agency training and recruitment plan for foster parents and adoptive parents, based on needs assessment. Develop and maintain recruitment/marketing materials for recruitment and training plans.
  • Screen and assign to staff cases that are appropriate for services and track all referrals that are being made to the program.
  • Complete QI/QA reviews for clinical services, monitor QI/QA results for assigned staff, develops plans of correction as needed and follows up to ensure that corrections have been completed.
  • Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment.  All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  • Respond to all foster care and adoption inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Complete staff's evaluations on-time.
  • Perform advocacy and liaison work with PCSAs, schools, the juvenile justice system, and other community resources as needed.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call back up to staff and their client families for crisis coverage, case consultation and supervision.

OTHER DUTIES:
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
  • All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:    
  • Education: Minimum Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Licensure: Valid Ohio LISW-S, LPCC-S, LIMFT or PsyD.

    • Collaboration and Teamwork: Function effectively as a member of a professional team that includes employees, clients and family members.
    • Problem Solving & Decision Making: Recognize problems and responds appropriately; gathers information and sorts through it to identify and address root cause issues; makes timely decisions.
    • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate competence in utilizing Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions.
    • Clinical Skill: Demonstrated clinical expertise in systemic family therapy, crisis intervention, family education, and behavioral interventions.
  • Experience: Minimum of four (4) years related experience. Minimum of two (2) year supervisory experience.
  • Other: Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency’s insurance company.  Must be approved by Applewood to transport clients in own vehicle.
