Job Description - Clinical Supervisor (LBCaBA / LBCBA)

Job Summary: 


Clinical Supervisors have a BCaBA credential or a BCBA credential. Clinical Supervisors are responsible for conducting behavioral assessments, designing behavioral intervention plans, and overseeing implementation for individuals with autism. Clinical Supervisors provide training to team members and caregivers, monitoring progress toward developmental and socially significant goals.


Essential Functions:



  • Conducts assessments of clients using appropriate protocols and procedures, probing skills listed on adaptive, developmental and functional behavior assessments via direct observation and data collection. Scores and Interprets assessments, discussing findings with stakeholders.

  • Completes treatment plans including analysis of assessment data, program design, and development, writing plan goals, and determining needed supports and submit by due date.

  • Provide clinical recommendations regarding treatment intensity, modality, and transition/ exit planning, in collaboration with parents and other stake holders, with the emphasis on delivering developmentally appropriate and socially significant client outcomes

  • Evaluate and modify treatment based on best practices within the field. 

  • Ensures that indicators of assent and withdrawal of assent are noticed, honored, and measured. implement programming to promote assent and communication skills to express assent and assent withdrawal.

  • Creates, prepares and organizes instructional materials.

  • Uses clinical observation at least weekly to ensure effective and efficient data-based decision making.

  • Collaborates with Caregivers to implement programming and provides support to achieve prioritized goals during Family Treatment Guidance sessions.

  • Supervise Program Supervisors, Lead Behavior Technicians, Advanced Behavior Technicians, Behavior Technicians, and Entry Level Behavior Technicians in the implementation of programs, and behavioral intervention procedures, recording data and session notes.; observing BTs, implementing Behavioral Skills Training (BST), and providing ongoing clinical supervision.

  • Attends company trainings and meetings as assigned.

  • Follows and abides by the BACB Ethics Code, Twin Cities Autism Center ethical guidelines and policies, regulations, and adheres to mandated reporting regulations.

  • Collaborates with family to implement programming and provides support to achieve prioritized family goals during Family Treatment Guidance sessions.

  • Meets with each family at least one time monthly for Family Treatment Guidance sessions. Monitors Program Supervisor and/or Lead Behavior Technician’s sessions with the families. 

  • Communicates effectively with parents, caregivers, and other professionals as instructed concerning behavioral and therapeutic programming to ensure ongoing collaboration.

  • Responsible for responding to all communications from supervisors within 24-hour period or by next business day worked. 

  • Provide ongoing observation and direction to Program Supervisors, Lead Behavior Technicians, Advanced Behavior Technicians, Behavior Technicians, and Entry Level Behavior Technicians both during the onboarding process and beyond. 

  • Participate and lead Group Supervision sessions. 

  • Provide supervision for those enrolled in an RBT, BCaBA, or BCBA program in accordance with BACB guidelines. 


Non-Essential Functions/Other Duties:



  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises Entry Level Behavior Technicians, Behavior Technicians, Advanced Behavior Technicians, Lead Behavior Technicians, and Program Supervisors on assigned client cases. 


Travel Required: Monthly travel to client homes, clinic, or other therapy or meeting locations with the use of personal vehicle.  


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to independently and repeatedly lift, move, and carry objects weighing up to thirty-five (35) lbs. 

  • Required to stand, walk, sit, grasp, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, hear, type, and write. 

  • Ability to engage in physical activities with clients, including play and exercise.

  • Employees may be exposed to a client who exhibits physically aggressive behavior which can include kicking, pinching, punching, biting, etc. The employee may have to use appropriate behavior management techniques frequently with a client under such circumstances. Such response requires agility, quick reflexes, and the ability to use physically evasive movement. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near, far, and field of vision. 

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding by others.

  • This position requires regular and punctual employee presence. 


Qualifications:


Education:



  • A Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) with a minimum of 400 hours of hands-on training in providing ABA services directly to individuals with autism under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst who has at least two years of experience in ABA programming for individuals with autism.  

  • A Board-Certified Behavior Analyst is preferred. 

  • Completion of the BACB Supervisory Training is preferred. 


Experience:



  • See above education/experience requirements. 

  • Previous experience working with children. 

  • A solid understanding of autism and behavioral principles. 

  • Experience utilizing applied behavior analytic strategies to modify behavior. 

  • Experience with functional behavior assessments and writing behavior support and treatment plans. 

  • Experience providing feedback and support to other employees. 


Skills and Competencies:



  • Natural ability to interact with children and adolescents, with the ability to work with a variety of individuals on the autism spectrum, at different functioning levels. 

  • Must display energy and creativity. 

  • Critical thinking skills, with strong analytical abilities. 

  • Strong work ethic, with the ability to meet scheduling commitments. 

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships. Must be able to communicate information and ideas by speaking in a way in which others will understand. 

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and abide by ethical guidelines and policies, including compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations. Maintain professional boundaries with clients and their families. 

  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully adapt and perform in an ever-changing, fast paced environment. 

  • Strong leadership skills to include positive attitude, integrity, accountability, developing and motivating others, fostering teamwork, effective communication, and strategic thinking.  

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 

  • Must be self-motivated and goal oriented. 

  • Take feedback from supervisor and incorporate it into practice. 




Other:



  • Must be 18 years old or older. 

  • Must pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances. 

  • Must meet eligibility requirements for MN EIDBI Level 1 Provider. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping others.

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
