Job Summary
The Clinical Team Leader conducts initial and on-going assessments of patients on the Children and Adolescent Unit (CCSU) to ensure the provision of individualized treatment and services. The Clinical Team Leader also provides individual, group and family therapy sessions on functional, social, personal, and educational topics and performs trauma and additional assessments as recommended by the Psychiatrist or APRN.
The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CCSU) receives patients involuntarily through the Baker Act and voluntarily. The normal length of stay on the unit for patients is typically 3-5 days. Due to the types of services provided, crisis stabilization units are a fast paced working environment and present employees with challenging and rewarding opportunities. Responsibilities
- Reviews, revises and coordinates the daily programming and schedules for the patients.
- Completes documentation in a timely, accurate manner:
- Completes bio-psychosocial assessments.
- Develops and updates treatment plan and treatment plan reviews.
- Documents progress towards fulfillment of treatment plan goals and objectives.
- Documents all services provided in patient medical record.
- Gathers and documents collateral data.
- Attends and participates in daily rounds and treatment team; communicates patient progress/concerns; reports on the content of therapy sessions.
- Completes initial and on-going assessments of patients.
- Provides individual, group, and family therapy sessions to patients and families.
- Provides individual and group training on functional, social, personal and psycho-educational skills to patients.
- Works with Clinicians to review patient needs, treatment and discharge plans. Assists with exploring and identifying community resources.
- Monitors to ensure services and documentation are completed in accordance with internal and external regulations, are appropriate for the patient, and demonstrate the use of best practices.
- Facilitates recruitment, hiring, orientation, evaluation, retention and employee relations actions of staff and interns in coordination with supervisor and the Human Resource Department.
- Reviews and approves time sheets and leave requests for those supervised by this position.
- If eligible, supervises staff working towards licensure.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited university or college with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, criminal justice or a related Human Services field (a related Human Service field is one in which major course work includes the study of human behavior or development)
- Valid Florida License (LMHC, LCSW or LMFT) preferred. Minimum requirement of being a Registered Intern in good standing with the State of Florida Department of Health in social work, mental health counseling or marriage and family therapy.
- Two years experience working with adults experiencing serious mental illness and supervisory experience required.
- Proficiency in the RBHS/MHRC Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Patient Information System demonstrated within three months of employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook and use of the Internet required.
- Strong communication skills are essential and this individual must be able to interact appropriately with internal and external customers, including patients, families, caregivers, community service providers, supervisory staff and other department professionals.

Mental Health Resource Center, Inc. (MHRC) is a nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of behavioral health and social services to the community. Included in MHRC’s service array are 24-hour emergency services and inpatient psychiatric services for children, adolescents, and adults. Outpatient services include medication management, care coordination, case management, intensive case management team services, counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation, an adult therapeutic family program, state hospital liaison services, mental health court, multidisciplinary forensic teams (MFT), jail-based diversion services, a Co-Responder Program with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the Link-to-Life suicide prevention program, and services that assist individuals in obtaining benefits such as Social Security Income, Social Security Disability Income, Medicaid, food stamps, and housing. In addition, UF Health Jacksonville contracts with MHRC to manage the hospital’s adult inpatient psychiatric unit.
MHRC also operates eight Florida Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) programs for adults with severe and persistent mental illness, located in Clearwater, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Kissimmee, Rockledge, Tampa, and Winter Haven, as well as a FACT Lite program providing Linking, Advocating, Treating, Transitioning, Empowering & Recovery Support (LATTERS) services in Jacksonville. The two FACT teams located in Jacksonville serve residents of Duval, Clay, and Nassau counties.
